I loved this book! It definitely exceeded the expectations I had for it :D For how beautiful the writing is, I was expecting it to not be as fast paced but it definitely hooked me 🤩 I haven’t read the second book but I really want to. For me, the setting really added to the charm. I also loved the faith content and getting to see Edith really being willing to put her own life aside to help her family :)
I agree, the setting definitely added to the charm. You have to read the rest of the series ASAP because it's so good!
I'm on the fifth book now, and this series is amazing!!! My favorite character is probably Edith, but Simon is a great character, too!!!
My least favorite character is proably whatever the villians name is...
And I honestly don't remember the ending... 😅
But I remember it being really good!!!
1. Who was your favorite character?Edith! Her narration was entertaining.
2. Who was your least favorite character?
Rivers is the obvious choice here.
3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)
Hmm… I don’t really have many complaints.
(TINY SPOILER!)
Maybe I would’ve had Edith share what she knew with her parents sooner.
(END TINY SPOILER)
4 What did you think of the ending? (Spoiler tags, please!)
It was a nice ending! Just a little excitement, but a nice setup for the series.
5. What was your overall opinion?
This was a perfectly cozy read! It had a nice touch of intrigue, too. I’ll definitely continue the series.
Finally finished this one! Some schoolwork prevented me from being on time *shakes fist at schoolwork silently*.1. My favorite character was definitely Edith herself, because I loved her combination of character traits and the way she interacted with other characters. Simon is a close second for favorite, though!
2. My least favorite character has to be (view spoiler).
3. If I could change one part of the book, it would be to make clues for the plot twists a bit more subtle. I think it would have contributed to the overall air of mystery about the Abbey if we could have seen Edith really have to dig for clues.
4. The ending wasn't anything super dramatic or climactic, but I enjoyed it all the same. I like where the series appears to be headed, and I'll definitely read the next book in the future.
5. Overall, I found this book cozy and cute: a charming story and an author who has a lot of imagination.
