These are both self-published. Please pick something else.
Scott, would you like to nominate the third in the series?

No thank you, I'll pass then. Both were recommended to me in another group and have gotten good reviews, I didn't even pay attention to the publisher. But in general I think the group will be missing out on a lot by excluding outright anything not published by a traditional publisher without any other consideration. For example Ilona Andrews, an extremely well-known and popular author duo, has several self-published series now. Food for thought.
We've had too much abuse to allow for now, but we will do buddy reads of self-published books at times.
The self-published thread still exists for recommending just for reading:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Thanks Mary :) Will wait till I've finished it before deciding if it's a gem ;) I just thought it would be nice to have others to discuss with while I was reading.
I will throw in When the Moon Hits Your Eye and The Sunlit Man.

– Books must be published by the first, be available internationally, and available in print form. Keep in mind that brand-new books may be difficult for our members to obtain right away.
– After about 10 days, 8 books from each genre will be chosen at random from the selection, using a random generator online (if necessary).
– Each person may nominate a fantasy book AND a sci-fi book, if desired. That’s two nominations per person, one in each category. Please include whether your nomination is fantasy or sci fi.
– If books are part of a series, they must be the first, unless the group has already read the previous book(s). You can see our previous group reads here or click “Bookshelf” from the menu on the right.
– No authors nominating their own works.
– No self-published or ebook-only books — we want our BotM to be accessible to as many members as possible!
– Moderators may use their discretion when accepting nominations. Keep the thread focused. Discussion about changes in rules can go to General Chat.
