Vayanashala discussion

I was wondering if anyone could share any tips on learning how to read malayalam. Both of my parents came to America from Kerala and speak malayalam to me everyday so I can understand majority of things except for things like numbers and just words that aren't used daily. So if anyone knows how I should learn how to read malayalam it would be really helpful because I want to be more a part of my culture.

Try reading malayalam comics if you can find them, or find Malayalam stories for kids from Google (Or availble in Kindle store).

Hi, take half a day and learn the scripts and practice them regularly. Next step can be to read lyrics in Malayalam as you sing along. *So many blogs have lyrics of songs in Malayalam fonts. You can also try comics like Akhil said and then progress to books.
