Aria needed somebody who could do dark magic for… an important mission. So she started hanging posters for a job application everywhere.

Jake was aimlessly wandering around, bored and in serious need of some drama. That was when he saw the poster

Aria notices a man staring at the poster and stays afar; to see what he does.

He reads the poster, already having noticed the girl watching him from across the street

‘Oh shoot he noticed me’ Aria thinks in her head so she does the first that comes in her brain: she smiled sweetly and waves at him.

He turns to look at the girl, raising an eyebrow and smiling slightly. He points to the poster in question

Aria strides towards him. Her grin remaining on her face and then she finally speaks, “Interested?”

He grins "perhaps.. if you pay me double"

Aria rolls her eyes, “That depends on how good your services are and how is 1k a week not good for you?”

He shrugs "what can I say, hun. You look like you got money to spare" he smirks "and I happen to know I'm the only paracticer of dark magic round here"

Aria frowns, “Fine, but only because I need someone who can do dark magic before the deadline,” she shuts her mouth as she realized she said something she wasn’t meant to say

His grin widens. This would be better than he ever could have imagined "now you have the look of someone who's just spilled important information. I believe we have a deal, hun"

“I already said fine do you need a handshake or something?”

He shrugs "just making sure. And for future reference: yes, a handshake would be helpful" he begins striding away down the street, expecting her to follow

Aria catches up with and then stands in front of him to stop him from walking any further. "I don't do handshakes. I do blood oaths."

He smirks lazily "how cute" is all he says "now please get out of my way, I am about to be late for my appointment at the salon"

"No it doesn't, you can use my private salon at my house if you're that desperate."

He sighs "it will have to do, I suppose"

He raises an eyebrow and follows her inside "can we get this over with? I'm having a seriously bad hair day." His hair looks immaculate

"Even a fae could lie better; and they can't even lie." Ari starts to write the blood oath and then clears her throat to read it aloud, "For one moon’s turn, you shall bend your power to my will, seeking to unlock the Forbidden Gate, no matter the cost, no matter the curse.

In return, I, bound by blood and fire, pledges protection under my name and empire, and the promised payment—one favor unrefused.

Should either falter, may the blood spilled here call the Hollow Ones as witness, and let our lives unravel by fang, flame, or fate.

Sealed in blood. Etched in magic. Irrevocable." She then sweetly smiles, "If you accept this oath just write your name here in blood."

Jake flips open a foldable knife and cuts into his finger, using the blood leaking from it to write his name "ta da!" He says unenthusiastically "can I go now?"

"Sure, does that mean you don't want to use my private salon anymore?"

He perks up at that "private salon, then can I go?" He amends

"What's the mgic word~"

He hits her lightly "please hun, can you take me to your salon?"

"Atta boy! Was it that hard?" She says in a high-pitched voice as if she were talking to a small animal

"Aw, what tricks are you gonna teach me next!" He says sarcastically

"Maybe go fetch or crawl to me," she shrugs, "the possibilties are endless." She then walks out of the room, expecting him to follow

I have the greatest idea. So basically, Aria used to be in love with a girl, but then the girl died, and Aria couldn't let her go, so that's why she’s searching for people with dark magic to bring back her lover from death. The only way to do that is to open the Gate of Death, but doing so could unleash other dangerous creatures.))

Jake rolls his eyes and follows her out of the room

“Wait gimme a sec I need to find a map.”
