Brendon Patrick (alifeofprose) | 2 comments Hello, everyone

I’m new to the group and just thought I’d introduce myself.

I’m a Brisbane, Australia local, and a Historical Fiction Author (I hope this doesn’t read like a shameless plug, but my debut is set for late August).

I’m currently reading: Laura Elvery’s Nightingale, which is a brilliant re-telling of Florence Nightingale’s legacy in nursery, and the late years of her life.

I also had the pleasure of attending the launch of this book, and meeting Laura, which was an exciting occasion.

Would love to hear what everyone else is reading

Brendon

Mike | 135 comments I joined this book club in 2024 and held off becoming active until 2025. I wanted to start a fresh year. I think many of the books members of this group read are fiction. I personally read a lot more non-fiction.

I just finished a great book by Fatemeh Jamalpour and Nilo Tabrizy about the situation women face in Iran. If you are looking for a powerful non-fiction book to add to your list, I highly recommend this For the Sun After Long Nights.

For the Sun After Long Nights: The Story of Iran's Women-Led Uprising

For the Sun After Long Nights The Story of Iran's Women-Led Uprising by Fatemeh Jamalpour
