Synopsis:
In 1965 Rangoon (Burma), fifteen-year-old Tapan shares a gentle yet emotionally rich friendship with Deepti, a thoughtful and sensitive girl. Their connection, born of innocence, becomes deeper with time, but their story is interrupted when Deepti is forced to move to India due to her family's decision to settle there. Just before she leaves, the two make a heartfelt promise—one whose true weight neither fully comprehends.
Separated by years, their lives take different directions. Deepti’s journey in India brings her into contact with new challenges and relationships, including her evolving bond with Amit, a compassionate friend who offers emotional support, even knowing Deepti’s commitment to Tapan, whose presence introduces a new layer of emotional complexity into Deepti’s life.
A year after Deepti's departure from Burma, Tapan too is compelled to leave due to the escalating political unrest— carrying with him memories and the sacred vow they made in their youth, and a burning desire to find Deepti at any cost.
