Elena Alexandrescu | 849 comments As we get ready to move forward from the chilling psychological twists of We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer, our literary journey takes a poignant and powerful turn. This June, we’re excited take the next step with A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini as our next Book of the Month.

Set against the backdrop of war-torn Afghanistan, Hosseini’s novel offers a deeply human story of love, sacrifice, and endurance through the intertwined lives of two remarkable women. It's a narrative that speaks to both the personal and political, inviting reflection and empathy in equal measure.

Where We Used to Live Here made us question the boundaries of perception and reality, A Thousand Splendid Suns roots us in the profound strength found in connection, even in the most harrowing of circumstances.
We invite you to read, reflect, and join the conversation as we dive into this unforgettable novel. Happy reading!

Elena Alexandrescu | 849 comments Enjoy! I borrowed it also, I’m trying to finish a couple of others and I‘ll join you soon 🙂

Nistha | 2957 comments I won't be rereading it (I re-read it 2 years back) but it is my all-time favourite! Very excited to see what you guys think about it..

That reminds me I should probably reread The Kite Runner at some point

Fiona | 4091 comments I actually had no idea what this book was about. I'm almost halfway through and I'm enjoying it, but so far, I don't have any intelligent comments to make.
I haven't read The Kite Runner either yet, but I do like Khaled Hosseini's writing, so I'm sure I'll pick that one up too at some point.

Fiona | 4091 comments I'm done and rated it 4 stars.
