Enemies to lovers, beach house banter, and some deep emotional wounds—Beach Read had it all!

Now that you've turned the last page, what did you love? What made you laugh, cry, or clutch the book to your chest?

Drop your reactions, favorite moments, quotes, reviews, etc. below, and don’t forget to tag those spoilers!

Kristen Fort | 121 comments What I loved most about Beach Read is that the two characters are writers and bookish, and it is what I love most about Emily Henry's novels in general, that I can see myself and people I know in her characters. I don't remember the laugh-out-loud moments from this one as it has been five years since I've read it, but it was a great, light-hearted read during the pandemic for me and my teacher besties.

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. This is exactly the benefit of this club to me....I read books that I typically may not pick up.

Julie Grindal (julesgrin) | 196 comments This was definitely a quick beach read. This is not my genre of choice, but I do love the witty banter of Emily Henry’s novels.

Tiffany (herbtiff) | 216 comments This was a reread for me. And I originally gave the book three stars. It moved up to a 4 star read with this reread.

Original Read 2023: I enjoyed this story. It was fun to read about two "authors" and their ways of writing. I liked the best friends in the story and what they offered. I thought the main character grew a lot and was fun to read.

There is some language and some sex.

Reread 2025: I actually liked this book better the second time. I don't know if it was because I like the author and am starting to understand her writing style or if it was just a better time in my life for this book. I loved the FMC and the MMC. I liked the aunts in the story and how they helped advance the story. I liked the challenge and there were even some twists that I was not expecting nor did I remember. I would recommend this book.
