Oh no! lol I have the second book sitting on my TBR shelf. I’ve been debating reading the last few chapters to jog my memory, but I feel like if I haven’t read it yet there must have been a reason 😅

I thought this book was pretty entertaining. The author's ability to make you "see" the world was impressive to me.

So, I actually had this on my TBR since it CAME OUT. I finally read it and I was a fool. I cannot even believe how much I liked this (and marathon'd the rest of the series including OUaBH)
I did it wrong- I read ouabh series first!! And I loved it, especially the second book. So now I’m going to go back and read caraval!

I also read them in the wrong order, but I didn't feel like it was a huge issue. I still liked them both!

I am reading Caraval now, but I read Once Upon a Broken Heart first, so it sucks that I got a bunch of spoilers. I thought ouabh was a standalone, which it is, but it does have spoilers for the end of the Caraval series.
The reread was inevitable for me. I love the series sooo much. But kinda unpopular opinion I like the first book better than second and third…….
Unpopular opinion but I didn’t like Caraval and I tried Once Upon a Broken Heart. It was a DNF for me.
I LOVED the first book… hated the last two. I didn’t like Tella and Jacks was annoying. I was hoping the last book would have a good balance between Scarlett and Tella, but out of 59 chapters, Scarlett has 18-20, and they’re all really short. Stephanie Garber definitely has a favorite character, and if the series was going to be about Tella, why make the first book about Scarlett?
Oh my word! I had never read Caraval before, but I flippen loved it so much!! All the twists and turns had me screaming into my pillow. ***SPOILERS And when I thought that Julian was actually dead, I was like ain't no way. I was getting read to throw hands. One of the best books I've read in a while.

I remember having that reaction to thinking they had killed Julian. I was ready to fight the author.
