The Mosquito: A Human History of Our Deadliest Predator by Timothy C. Winegard https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/el-mosq...
Love this group! I just joined recently. So please let me know if this is against the rules, but can I nominate my own book? UPLIFT: A Novel by Jessica Mann

The story is told entirely through the eyes of birds and other nonhuman characters. It just won Silver at the IBPA book awards, was featured in Psychology Today and The Nature Conservancy, and has gotten a number of 5-star reviews. I thought it would be a fun and enlightening summer read for people! But I totally understand if it’s against the rules. Thanks! 😊
Hi Jessica. You can of course nominate your own book. However, we typically only do works of fiction in April and October, so please be sure to nominate this again for the October BOTM and I will remove it from this month.
Thank you, Becky! I am VERY new to GoodReads and to all this, so just trying to figure out how things work. I appreciate your advice about April and October being for fiction — will do! 😊Jessica wrote: "Love this group! I just joined recently. I am now taking nominations for the July 2025 Book of the Month on this thread.
As a reminder, here are the rules:
- Please try to include a link to the book if you can
- Check the Previous BOTM list to ensure we haven't read it before (https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...)
- Limit your nomination to one book per month so everyone has an equal chance of winning
- Get your nomination in by Monday, June 9th - the poll will go up on Tuesday, June 10th.
Thank you,
Becky
