I haven’t actually read it yet… my mom wouldn’t let me for a while, bc the gay added in, but I think i can now Im a lot older. (Even tho it just came out a lil while ago)
I've read it and people are honestly overreacting about the gay stuff, like it's only a british guy and an aussie waitress mentioning they have a husband/wife. nothing major lol
Not the end of the world but I still wish Shannon didn’t add it (no offense sry) Im pretty sure Shannon didn’t want to add it but wasn’t allowed to publish with ou t a hint of gayness….
Honestly, its not that big/main, I just really think its too bad that she felt like she had to add itAnd it was obvious too. It was so forced and unrealistic, I mean if elves have been heterosexual for thousands of years or whatnot, and their society has always only been heterosexually oriented, then Alvar and Keefe really wouldn’t just accept it and be like (I’m paraphrasing), “oh, I think it’s cool, cause like love is love bro!”
They would honestly be SHOCKED to say the least, and likely weirded-out/appalled by this kind of relationship, being that they had never experienced, heard of, or even considered such a thing.
sorry that’s a little long, the unrealistic-ness of their reaction has still kinda bugged me even though it’s been several months since I finished it 🙂
