Papa MRF | 20 comments It seems like I am in the minority of Shields in that I am consuming DCC in the dead tree edition. On a recent podcast, Tom wondered if the hardcover extras were the same as the audiobook epilogues: they are not.

The hardcovers each contain a chapter of a novella set in the DCC universe called "Backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret." It's set in the dungeon after the collapse of the first level. Each chapter follows a different character, as they all (view spoiler)

The character followed in the first installment is (view spoiler)

The character followed in the fourth installment is newly-introduced, someone who was in a corner of third-floor dungeon that didn't get explored.

I also noticed that the front of the hardcover, behind the book jackets, have a phrase prominently displayed. I hadn't noticed this until the Gates of the Feral Gods, and the other three books have been returned to the library, so if someone has the first three books handy, I'd appreciate it. These phrases don't seem like spoilers to me, but I'll hide them because some people are sensitive.

If anyone has the cover phrases for the first three books, I'd appreciate it.

First one is "You will not break me"
Will try to check the next two when I next go to the library.

First one is "You will not b..."

The second is just, "BOOM!"
The third is only the anarchy symbol.
