Lauren Jones-Fry (theglobe8921) | 4 comments I just wanted to add this spectacular series as I believe it is controversial yet brilliant and covers topics viewed as extreme and important in society today. Feel free to post any queries or topics of discussion relating to this trilogy or the subjects highlighted throughout the books.

I have had this on my reading list for AGES. It's one of the series that kicked off the dystopian craze, though Hunger Games is usually credited with the big surge. I'm still planning to read these, but who knows when!

I haven't listened to the last book "Extras" yet...has anybody read it? Was it true to the series or any good?

Lauren Jones-Fry (theglobe8921) | 4 comments Extras was the last book I read. It wasn't as good as the Uglies trilogy itself but it's definitely worth a read because it was a really intriguing concept. Uglies is a page-turning twist on beauty in society and Extras looks more at the popularity side of it.

Thanks...I've read the series, but I haven't been too interested in Extra's yet. Mainly because it's a new character. I have it so I will get to it someday.

Lauren Jones-Fry (theglobe8921) | 4 comments I have to admit that I thought the same thing as you but in Extras, Tally is a character. She's just not the protagonist this time. Besides, you get to learn more about how she's grown as it's set three years after

Great thanks that does make it sound more appealing

Jakeisthecoolest | 3 comments This is great series and one I recommen regularly as an English teacher. Great themes, not covered nearly often enough, wrapped up in exciting and pacy story telling.

❀ Sabina (namida2u) I have read this series a few months ago and I loved it! it was my first dystopian series and I still haven't read Extra's because of the different characters. Although I'm curious now after reading the comments from TheGlobe :) perhaps I'll find some time this month to complete the series.

If anyone is interested, we can do a buddy read for Extra's.
