I picked up this book a couple years ago and then completely forgot I owned it or what it was about. When looking for a book with mermaids or sirens this is one that came up that I owned so chose this one. I know it has sirens and that's about it. I already can kind of see where things are going to - morally grey mmc and girl who has been through some big things banter/argue their way through more big things and (probably) fall in love. I am enjoying it so far and am curious by this whole other world with supernatural police and FBI and all the other paranormal creatures. I also find it interesting that it is currently kind of being presented as a second-chance romance maybe?
Haven‘t ticked of the Siren category, so I‘m joining this of course.Chapter 1 - 7
Definitely on to a good start. It’s definitely sort of obvious that these two will end up together, but I‘m definitely enjoying their arguments and dialogues up to this moment. Sensing that the werewolf ex will probably cause some trouble. And although I want to know why Des left for seven years, there’s quite a lot of switches in the timeline.
through end of chapter 15: Kind of proud I've kept with with the reading and haven't fallen behind (yet)! Overall I'm enjoying it but I can't say I'm super invested in it. Me being me I did look at the synopsis for the next books because I was curious if the series followed the same characters or if it switched at all. As a result - I got a little bit of a spoiler but I am curious to see how it plays out still. @Sarah-Vanessa: The switching timelines is kind of a lot - like basically every chapter. I like that we are getting some of the backstory but I wish it was a smidge more cohesive instead of so constant.
Well I got invested lol and flew threw it today - I am curious to know y'alls thoughts (but no rush) and see what theories we have in general.
@Brianna 😂😂 Totally get it. We were traveling so I didn’t have any time to update here. But I‘m planning to finish this one tonight. So far I‘m up to Chapter 19 and I feel the male character is slightly toxic, but I‘m still enjoying every minute of it….
rough start of the month for me (whoops) but I'm at least halfway through right now! it was a little slow for me in the beginning but now that the catatonic creepy af children have been introduced I'm invested 😂 hopefully we get some answers in this book and not have it carried into the second one....though I'm sure that's not gonna happen lol
@Edith These kids indeed are creepy! Looking forward to read your thoughts. Ok, So I finished… Here are my thoughts.

Hi All! I got so far behind, but today I caught up and flew through all the chapters. I have about 30 mins left of the audiobook. I have to say it was a bit hard to get through at first because I found Callie to be so whiny. Depending on how this ends it will be a 3.5 for me just because of the beginning.
@Edith: The children are most definitely creepy! SUPER unsettling. I'm excited to see the rest of your thoughts!@Sarah-Vanessa: (view spoiler)
@Michelle: I also rated it 3.5 mostly because of the beginning and my overall dislike of Callie at first.
@Michelle Nice, looking forward to read your thoughts.@Brianna @Michelle I didn’t even notice she was whiny, but yes, she tends to be somewhat negative.
