I enjoyed this one, asnd it was a pretty fast read, but it wasn't without its problems for me.

Great blending of history and magic!

I thought it was a fun/enjoyable read.

Care to share the problems you encountered?

The repetition was the main thing. So much going over the same information again and again. Drove me more than a little squirly 😆

The writing was a touch on the overly simple side for my personal tastes too, but I was expecting that, and at least it made for a really fast read.

I did enjoy it, I just think it could have been so much better with a bit more editing.

Agree on all points! I've gotten to where I can bear the repetition in books (apparently I read a lot that do that)! The editing issues bother me more.

I may well pick up the second book some time though. If I wait long enough in between, I'll probably appreciate a bit of repetition, because I'll have forgotten most of what happened 😆

ooh I think I am gonna get this read before the end of the month as it is KU with Audio and sounds good.

I am enjoying the magic system as it’s a lot different than anything I’ve ever read.

I enjoyed it enough. I also got audio which was nice listening to the accents. I think I appreciated the simple writing more than you guys as I just finished a more deep book and was not in the mood so this worked out well.

Wow that ending was quite abrupt.
