alexandra | 336 comments Girlsss I just asked my mom to order me a Kindle (the money is not a problem!! I have money from birthdays from the past 3 years and I've been saving them so I am paying that as I am paying my clothes, skincare, school stuff everything) and she said no. I was like 'please I really want it and I can save a holly lot of money cause there is a website and I can download all the books that I want to read for free and the e books are cheaper' and blah blah blah and she said no.

How could I convince her buy me that? I don't have a debit card bc she doesn't let me get one so I def can't get it by myself

Bella (Rhysand’s Version) (School Semi-Hiatus) | 222 comments I would try not to berate her about it. Any time I beg my parents they’re less inclined to say yes. I would maybe try again in a day or two and ask only once or twice more. You could even show her the websites you plan on getting the books of off so that she understands why it would be cheaper over all. Best of luck to you!

Amara | 1027 comments In my family, if we beg for things, there's an even lower chance if getting it.
You could wait a few days or a week or more, then ask her if you could exchange chores for the Kindle.
I have a baby sister, and my mom just bought me the Shatter Me series from Amazon for $33 in exchange for watching my sister for about 5 or 6 hours.

lilly ♡ (semi-hiatus, reading slump) | 1498 comments ok wait this happened to me too! i asked for one (and kindle unlimited) for christmas as my 'big gift' and my dad mostly didnt wanna pay for a subscription every month so personally what i did is i made a whole pros and cons list on a poster comparing a kindle to the library, bookstores, etc and convinced my dad lol. may not work for everyone tho

alexandra | 336 comments @lily your idea is amazing!! I am going to try all this things! thank you so much!!!

addy (school Hiatus) | 62 comments I’m sure the responses already have you a good answer, but I’ll share some advice because why not :)) I would attempt to show your mom the benefits of owning a kindle. This could be lower costs in the long run, less clutter sense books would be in one place, the ability to preview books easily, the fact that you wouldn’t have to physically go to a store or pay for shipping on amazon, etc. just don’t beg or push it on your mom!!!

alexandra | 336 comments update: today my mom came to me and said that she will let me buy a Kindle if a get A at the next two exams and if I finish all the unread books (... up to 100). at least I will have motivation to study for those exams (they are in the next June so I have a year to study and read) not very happy but at least I will get it sometime

lilly ♡ (semi-hiatus, reading slump) | 1498 comments girl you got this i believe in you!!
