Thanks for joining us everyone! What are your reading plans?

I'm reading Mastodon by Steve Stred and Deerskin by Robin McKinley . Deerskin is a month long read for my book group here on Goodreads.
I also have to finish Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset by the end of the month, and I need to read this before August 24 Viy by Nikolai Gogol

I've been MIA of late. My sons were visiting from Tennessee for over a week (they went home Monday). I hadn't seen them in person for over two years. That's a long time for a mom to go without seeing her children. 😓
So, not much reading got done. Got back into Mastodon, and started Deerskin for my book group. Hoping to catch up by this weekend. I have a lot of events to plan for fall, and it's Castle Macabre's blogiversary on the 16th. 🎉😊

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 574 comments I was supposed to be floating (sensory deprivation tank with 1000lbs Epsom salt and warm water) but I ended up reading for an hour instead. 🤣 So I finished reading Late Bloomer. Now I'm struggling to continue with Snow Crash. It sucks. lol

Icy-Cobwebs-Crossing-SpaceTime (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 163 comments That's almost [sacrilege]! I'm sure in some circles it is. Denigrating Neal Stephenson or KSR, oh my. I had been planning to read Anathem for my daily read in September but decided to read Dystopia: Collected Stories instead, since we'll be reading Hell House.
Now I'll have to find time somewhere to read Snow Crash.☺️

Indy_Chick | 17 comments Sorry I haven't checked in since my last post.

Yes, The Sinners All Bow was good. Very interesting. Had no idea that the case covered in the book was basically the inspiration for The Scarlet Letter.

Here's my final read list:
1. The Sinners All Bow: Two Authors, One Murder, and the Real Hester Prynne by Kate Winkler Dawson
2. Christmas at the Little Cottage by the Sea by Rachel Griffiths
3. The Most Beautiful Book in the World: 8 Novellas by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt
4. The Answer Is No by Fredrik Backman
5. Schemes & Scandals by Kelley Armstrong
6. A Corpse at the Castle by R.B. Marshall
7. Highland Pursuits by Emmanuelle de Maupassant
8. Beaches, Bungalows & Burglaries by Tonya Kappes
9. Murder Wears a Mask by Donna Doyle
10. Highland Secrets by Elizabeth Rose
11. Immerse: Messiah Anglicized: Messiah - I was on an 8 week reading plan so this was started in July and read for 3 weeks in August

Thanks for hosting again, Michelle! I'm sorry I missed the readathon. My husband put out his back that weekend and I totally forgot about it.

Icy-Cobwebs-Crossing-SpaceTime (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 163 comments I read 42, so I'm satisfied; and much more thrilled that Spooky Season is here! (I jumped the gun on Hell House and read Saturday and Sunday).😊🎃

@Elyse, If you do have opportunity, give Seveneves a try; it might change your mind about Neal Stephenson. Also, Reamde. He really is a genius (ditto Kim Stanley Robinson).
