Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon discussion

Recently I read Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto. I enjoyed the book as a story, sure. I was unsure about the quality of the solvong of the murder mystery. In the end, I decided that I enjoyed the character Vera Wong to much to gove the mystery.2 stars. Vera Wong is so loving, strong, and bossy that I had to give the novel a respectable 3 stars. The character of Vera Wong made the novel for me.

What character helped you like a novel more.

Good characters can make or break a book even if there's something wrong with the storyline or the writing. I can't think of a specific example off the top of my head but this is one reason I like series books so much if I enjoy the characters.

I am a huge fan of well-developed characters. Some of my favourites are Ginny Weasley, Alice from Twilight and Katniss Everdeen. :)
