some fun facts about me:
im a current college student! (my major is nursing)
i started reading more back in high school
my favorite books are I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, Orpheus Girl, and The Queens of New York
my favorite authors are probably Holly Jackson, Misa Sugiura, Karen M. McManus and Jessica Goodman
my current book is Throwback
and im currently trying to read ebooks since i cant buy/dont want to buy.

omg so cool! i LOVE LOVE mystery so ill definitely check that out!

just finished Throwback! heres my review!

i love the complicated relationship shown in both sam and her mom and pricilla and her mom. i also like that it still isnt completely fixed when sam returns to norm times. and that the fight still happens, i was worried that it would be erased but no, it seemed like pricilla knew and also appreciated the apology about the fight. but i also love the 90s characters where diedre is just a fucking bitch (cause sometimes high school b****** are high school b****** and they will never change) but each of the relationships that pricilla has with her friend group and the reason why theyre like that but also i just find them so fing funny. i like the realization that jamie is also from the future, because lets face it, you need someone at one point to get you or else youd also be crashing out on the daily.
i will admit sometimes that the 90s nostalgia and vibes gets me, but i like also the reality pulls that are necessary because lets face it, it wasnt perfect. the fing microfiber thing??? i cant lie that bit tore me apart cause that was so real. also the constant need for same to remind herself that certain things just dont exist in this time because THEY WERENT INVENTED YET. crazy
also i love the way that sam tells her experience and also rambles sometimes. it reminds me alot of writers in general, and i knew she would want to be one. it reads so sweetly and with understanding, but also since im also an aries, theres this stubborness that i understand because understandable CRASHOUTS are happening
i will admit i didnt get the premise of this book at the beginning, but i think the way that sam gets herself into the situation and the abruptness helps because you kinda have to accept it. and the ideas and stuff sam comes up with and the general idea of trying to get pricilla to be homecoming queen is fun and engaging.
i will admit that because of the abruptness it does seem kinda weird and all over the place, but then again its time travel and thats always complicated. and also its the 90s.

if it wasnt for this botm read i would be reading something completely different! (which ill explain cause i dont mean it as something good or bad)
recently ive been having a problem with not knowing what i want to read next. if its not a series then i have no clue what to read next. so ive come up with a creative way to pick a book without bias or avoiding it. i use a spin wheel! one of those apps that where you put titles in a wheel and bam! now everytime i finish a book, i double check the wheel that the title i just finished is gone and i spin again!
thats how i found throwback! all the titles i put into the wheel are on my goodreads tbr since a while back, i took all the photos of books ive found in the wild that i found interesting and all the videos and posts ive saved that i wanted to use to reference and bam. all the books ive ever wanted to read.
i personally reccommend this as a way to maybe make picking up a new book easier if you find yourself being overwhelmed by things like tbr choices, like me.
