Goodreads Ireland discussion

Well this is a first for me, I’ve never joined a Goodreads group before but here I go. My names Darragh, I’m nineteen and last month I (finally) completed my leaving cert! I’ve always been a bookworm but with all the exam prep I just didn’t have the time to read anything of substance in the last few years. So, as my New Year’s resolution for 2025 I decided to change that!

I set myself the reading challenge of completing 50 books before the end of the calendar year. It’s going well so far, tonight I’ve begun my 30th book of the year, Margaret Atwood’s handmaids tale. It really has been amazing to get back into reading, it really is one of my passions.

So a little bit about me, I’m a Cork man, and still very much devastated by the result of the all Ireland final last weekend. My favourite genres include fantasy, history and science fiction. Fairly typical for my age and gender profile I think! I’m hoping to study political science at university come September so fingers crossed I get the points.
