Hi! Im in CA rn and we just got notified of tsunami advisories. There was an 8.8 earthquake closer to Russia so everyone is on alert. But atm just barely starting quicksilver to keep the mood positive, and will probably stay up till the next episode of tsitp gets uploaded to prime video. :)
I'm okay right now Brigitte a lot better than earlier I'm rereading one of my favorite books the city of heavenly fire by Cassandra Clare
my birthday is in just over ten days and my friends are begging me to put stuff on my wishlist (theres six of us and we created a google doc w different tabs for each person, so we can update it any time of year when we want something so it helps for christmas presents and stuff too - i recommend having something like this) anyway back to the point i have no idea what to ask for. i asked for books (obviously) and jewellery but i need ideas that a bit less cliché and obvious. can yall give me ideas im honestly stuck 😭 tysm girlies
What about some nice-smelling candles or incense to calm you and put you in the mood for a good book? Also, I like your list idea, maybe just add at the bottom of the list....1 surprise? (That way, something is not set in stone, and you create a happy anticipation?)🦋 happy bday!
you should get one of those light projectors that keep showing up on tiktok shop😭 i’ve been dying to read acotar with that purple light thing on my ceiling

Happy early birthday!!
I know this is super random but ive been wanting a salt lamp lol, so maybe you could add that to your list?? My friend had one and when I went to her house we licked her salt lamp (its not as weird as it sounds, i promise) and its addictingg. Salt lamps are also supposed to calm you so maybe that could help with reading

Heyyy I was wondering if anyone has gotten or tried those projectors that I’ve been seeing online? They look absolutely amazing!!! I’m just wondering if they work as well as the videos show?
i have no idea what projector your talking about but my family has a samsung projector and i lovee it. its so easy to bring places.
Okay!! Thank you guys! It’s a random projector I’ve seen on Instagram and Tik tok that is like a smaller one and it’s like been marketed as like a for book lovers thing where it’ll project like castles and pretty fantasy landscapes from books and stuff to have in the backround when you read.
Ikr!! Also if anyone is interested I just made a book Instagram account where I’ll be posting book content!!If the link to my account doesn’t work the username is mollys_books17!

I made a tik tok account as well!! Same username as the instagram but here’s the link to the account!! https://www.tiktok.com/@mollys_books1...
for anyone wondering, i am working on sorting people into houses rn, so they will be announced soon!! 💗
I remember when my cat died. I had two of them and they were siblings, but my sister has an cat allergy, so it worked like they can go out whenever they want, and rose (I didn’t chose the names) never came inside like her sibling did. I still feel sad for her, but know she’s somewhere, having a good time, playing with her friends or family.

Started with the heartless hunter yesterday, finished it this afternoon. It’s almost a waste of some sort to finish books that quickly! I mean, it is going to look very pretty in my bookcase, will re-read of the rebel witch comes out (Dutch version), but still…
Hi everyone! 👋I just started actually reading about three months ago, but it didn’t really click until recently. I went through about 12 books trying different genres — romance, mystery, thriller, even self-help — but none of them kept me interested. I love romance, but the regular ones felt flat for me.
Then I tried fantasy and realized I needed fantasy with romance — that’s when I read Quicksilver (because of TikTok 😅) and loved it! I adored Kingfisher’s vibe, the chemistry, and the side characters. After that, I dove into the Powerless series, and while the ending emotionally destroyed me, I LOVED it — the tension, the flirting, the yearning, the connection between Kai and Pae… it was perfection.
Now I can’t seem to find anything that hooks me the same way — maybe because I’m still recovering from Powerless, or because nothing else feels as addictive. I’d really love recommendations that fit my taste:
• Enemies to lovers (light to medium level)
• One love interest only — no triangles or side romances
• Fantasy romance (romance-focused)
• Happy ending where they end up together
• Lots of conversation, banter, and chemistry
• Flirting + tension starting early (like Powerless)
• Minimal world-building or long narration
• Dialogue-driven and emotional
• Focus on the main couple (few side plots)
• First-person POV (“I”), dual if possible
Also — I prefer completed series (duology or trilogy), but I’ll take a really good standalone if it’s worth it.
@Nads Shatter Me is my favorite series ever I would definitely recommend that!!!
-Its more of a dystopian than a fantasy but it still has like powers and stuff
-It may seem like a love triangle and kinda is at first, but thats not how it is for most of the series
-its a long series! I read it pretty quickly but its a pretty big commitment. its totally worth it to read every book tho (i recommend reading the novellas!!)

Also, to add on:
-It's told from the first person, and the books eventually get to multiple perspectives (the number of perspectives depends on the book)
-minimal world-building
-right from the beginning it's interesting. You meet Adam in, like the first or second chapter, it's pretty fast-paced
-It's a completed series, but there is a spin-off series in the making set years later and about different characters. I haven't read it yet, only the first book is out currently (it's called Watch Me)
-The whole Shatter Me series is technically split into 2 trilogies. The first trilogy (Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Ignite Me) is mainly focused on Juliette, while the second trilogy expands on the side characters. I'm not usually a big fan of reading about side characters, but I actually enjoyed this; the characters were likeable.
-It's definitely an enemies-to-lovers, he-falls-first-and-harder type of book
I also loveddd Powerless and have yet to read Quicksilver but its been on my tbr for a while.
