Two best friends fake date to reach their holiday happily ever after in this first romantic comedy in the Lovelight series.

A pasture of dead trees. A hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons. And shipments that have mysteriously gone missing. Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.

In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, Stella enters a contest with Instagram-famous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, Stella might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on her application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only…there is no boyfriend.

Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just stopped by for some hot chocolate and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process. But fake dating his best friend might be the best Christmas present he’s ever received.

My youngest had hockey practice this morning so I'll post my updates now.

Chapters 6-10 => (view spoiler)[Thanksgiving dinner was hilarious with her dad. It's clear that Luka is more invested in the situation than Stella realizes. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 11-17 => (view spoiler)[I'm glad she finally told everyone about the trouble she's having financially at the farm. I also love Luka's family. I'm starting to get a bit irritated, though. Why won't they just tell each other how they feel?!?!?!?!??! (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 18-end => (view spoiler)[This is the thing I don't like about friends-to-lovers sometimes. It's clear as day they both want each other, but one of them is never smart enough to accept or acknowledge it. Then you have the fight and breakup after on party voices how they feel and the other acts so shocked and surprised, lol. We need a new formula in the book community so we can change it up a bit. I (view spoiler)[also loved dinner at his family’s! loved how they were all acting as if she was family instantly. I can’t believe in 10 years as best friends, she refused every year. I loved when mom said to Luka she didn’t care how he got her there and be unconscious was just fine! The relationship between Stella and the sheriff is really sweet. I guess that is why she doesn’t do Luka’s family thanksgiving because she doesn’t have that kind of family and lost even the small tradition when her mom died. And it is really a weird thing with her dad. (hide spoiler)]

Exactly(view spoiler)[ it seems one usually has traum from someone leaving in their life. Her father was with another woman already and chose the other woman and left her mother but never left her technically and her mother died. I think this one could have been played much better. (hide spoiler)]

Finished-(view spoiler)[ this one started out stronger than it finished for me. We were hinted throughout that there was some secret that Luka had of why he was leaving New York. Was all it was that he just wasn’t happy and he wanted to come closer to home? I thought there was going to be some kind of secret? That doesn’t seem like a secret. Oh well, will be reading the next in the series just hope it is more like beginning than end (hide spoiler)]

Ch.1-8 such a cute beginning. I’m feeling festive already!
