I really enjoyed the first half of First-Time Caller an updated Sleepless in Seattle romance written by B. K. Borison.

Aiden Valentine hosts a romance call in radio show, but he is becoming more unenthusiastic about doing it. It's turned into spouses calling in to complain about each other. One night twelve year old Maya calls into say her mother, Lucie, needs to find a date. Lucie overhears the conversation and talks to Aiden about how difficult it is to enter the dating scene. The show goes viral.

Lucie is asked to join the show so the call-in audience can help her find a boyfriend. Naturally their chemistry is off the charts and they reluctantly fall for each other, while interviewing potential dates.

I really liked the side cast of characters, especially Maya, and her father Grayson, and Grayson's husband Mateo. Aiden's best friend and coworker Jackson was really funny and brought a lot to the story.

The banter and slow burn were good, but the story just dragged out too long. Readers already know how it's going to end, so let's just get to the end. There was a lot of spicy sex in the last half, but again, it just went on and on and on.

The secondary characters made the book for me, and I might consider reading Jackson's story, And Now, Back to You.
