General roleplay question- Everyone writes so much more than I do when it comes to roelplay posts... I mean I write between 8-10 lines for posts but people write paragraphs. I feel like if I did it, it would just either be repetitive or pointless detail but surroundings that no-one needs to know...So how do I get around that?
Slow everything down. Focus on emotions, how your character is feeling. Like, if your character is generally stoic to most people, focus on all internal feelings and reactions before going to the external reaction. You also want your character to think about things. Even if they're impulsive, they would still think just a little bit about what it is they're gonna do. Spur of the moment isn't actually spur of the moment; it's the spur of a thought.
Also, only writing a few lines isn't terrible either :) Just being simplistic is sometimes the better way to go; at least you know you're not being too wordy and your prose isn't purple. Most of the time when people write multiple paragraphs, they do end up being repetitive and the point is lost, so, personally, I think 8-10 lines is actually a perfect medium. That's just my opinion though :)
