I found a bunch of prompts/sentence starter things i've found on tumblr and stuff, and i have like ten pages of it on a word document so if anyone wants them, i can post it here :3

Painfully, he changed “is” to “was.”

Born a twin; Graduated only child.

We’re lying in bed. She’s lying.

“Wrong number,” says a familiar voice.

Torched the haystack. Found the needle.

She was lovely. Then things changed.

Homecoming Queen spreads legs for votes.

She loved cigarettes… more than life.

She found him hanging, then followed.

Mom says it happens to all girls, but I think she’s just trying to make me feel normal.

You’re sitting by me on the airplane and I promise i’m only holding your hand because I hate flying.

You think you make a better potato salad than me? Bring it, loser.

"But do you love me enough to kill me?"


Walking slowly down the hallway, he could already smell the scent of death coming from the master bedroom.

Under the screams of his parents arguing, he could still hear something coming from his bedroom closet.

Foraging through the forest, she smiled happily eating berries, only to freeze when she heard a footstep behind her.

Taking extra precaution to silently creep down the hallway, she almost let out a loud screech when she was tapped the shoulder from behind.

I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in weeks, and as I was finally drifting off into unconsciousness, there was a knock on the door.

Quietly humming to herself, she tossed the body bag into the freshly dug grave.

“I would like to apologize to everyone for what is about to happen,” she said, then flipped the switch.

She breathed quietly under the bed, wondering if the silence meant that he had left the room, then a pair of legs swung down from atop the bed.

He had noticed her around before, but it wasn’t until she slept with his best friend did he start to really pay attention.

He kept flirting with her outside the bank, not knowing there was a semi-automatic rifle underneath her jacket.

Taken a swig from the flask, she waited for a moment to feel the effects, immediately worrying she had made the wrong decision.

Under the large tree, laid out carefully, was a small little picnic on top of a red and white checkered blanket.

She could see the boat fast approaching so she moved quickly to the edge of the dock, anxiety causing her to pull out another cigarette and light it up.

He reached under the desk, peeled the tape off, and pulled out the gun he had hidden underneath the desk.

Turning up the radio, she smiled pleasantly as the rock music drowned out the screams in the next room.

"I can’t be the only one thinking it," she scoffed, then resumed drinking her cocktail.

He woke up, groggy, turning his alarm off, only to jump out of bed when he realized it wasn’t his wife in bed next to him.

The sad thing was, if he had seen this coming, he still would have probably made the same mistakes.

"Of course, yep," she nodded, exhaling loudly, throwing her hands in the air, "The perfect cherry on my shit sundae of a week."

"I don’t normally do this, you know," he sighed, then smiled, "I don’t get my hands dirty for just anybody."

When the waves fell back, she immediately recognized the body that they had just washed ashore.

"Anyone care for a spot of tea?" I asked as the building exploded.

Towards the back of the room, he lurked in the shadows, observing as he always did.

She was totally over that shit.

"Oh, nothing" he said, though it was obvious he was thinking of everything.
Knowing they would be quick to jump to conclusions, she figured it would be best for him to hide under the bed.

Only time would tell, but he was pretty sure that letting go of her was the best possible decision.

He kept asking me if I had forgiven her but I couldn’t even remember her face, let alone my own name.

Taking his shirt off, he looked over all his wounds, wondering if they were worth the price of getting the information.

Stumbling through the doorway, he looked around and realized that someone had just been in his apartment and they had been looking for something.

Resisting the urge to panic and curl up into the fetal position, he knew was going to have to do something about those men with guns.

Even now she could see the scar on her left hand she got on the day she finally escaped.

Dipping his feet into the cool, blue water, he sat down on the docks with a cigarette and exhaled slowly.

Before she did something she would regret, she walked outside and lit up a cigarette.

Absently tapping her finger on the desk, she kept the gun pointed at him as she watched the clock.

Vying for his attention with many other women, she realized she was going to have to do something drastic to come out on top.

Taking a moment to breath, she turned around, smiled politely, but in her head she was plotting revenge.

Serving the food politely with a smile, she quickly ran back into the kitchen, hoping her poker face had kept hidden the fact that it was all poisoned.

It was only quarter past three and he was unemployed, divorced, and mortally wounded, but he liked his chances because he still had the whole afternoon left.

Pretending she was grateful, she smiled and shook his hand, knowing that the next time she touched him, it would be her hands around his throat.

Joking around in the privacy of their home was fine, but the mood suddenly changed when she realized he was being serious.

Gathering up all the courage she could muster, she put on a large smile and walked out on stage to an entire audience booing.

Every day, when his alarm went off, he reached over to the other side of the bed, and every time there wasn’t anyone there.

Wishing it was just a horrible nightmare, I opened my eyes only to see he was still standing in front of me.

Under the bridge, beside a small pile of trash, covered in various litter, was the place that he drew his last breath.

Taking a moment to breath, she put a smile on her face and walked back into the party.

Standing at the edge of the roof, he looked out across the cityscape and watched the city burn.

Quieting his rage, he casually pretended he didn’t recognize her and shook her hand calmly.

Pouring a small glass of wine, she smiled, sighed, and said, “All right, let’s get rid of the body.”

Night after night, this would happen again and again, getting worse and worse each night, but despite that, he still wouldn’t quit drinking.

Looking around, smiling at all the wonderful, odd, eclectic, and bizarre people that surrounded her, she realized she was finally home.

On top of the altar, sitting plainly in sight, was the severed hand that had been missing from the corpse they found yesterday.

"Do it," I said, wincing, as he nodded and swung the axe down on my wrist.

I sighed as I looked at my house, sighed as I was finally alone and away from everyone, then something moved in the window.

I gently leaned in, held her close, kissed her forehead, knowing that soon this was all about to come to an end.

I took a deep breath and reached down to my holster for my gun, only to find my holster was empty.

He said, “That is the first thing anybody has said to me for seventeen years, three months and two days, five hours, nineteen minutes and twenty seconds.”

I had a trying time convincing her to come to the party, so I really hoped that the entire party didn’t implode when everyone found out I invited her.

Over the course of several months, I rarely saw him come out of his bedroom if it wasn’t to go to the store and buy more alcohol.

As I glanced over, the road zooming by, I could see the train was coming, but instead of slowing down, I pushed the gas pedal to the floor.

In that moment, I could see it all, I can feel everything, and I knew I was about to die.

Over the course of the semester, she would come to love him, but right now she wanted to stab him in the neck.

"Where did it go?" she mumbled over and over again, sitting on the floor, back against the door, half empty bottle of wine in one hand and a handgun in the other.

Obviously I was going to have to take matters into my own hands, and that involved a prison break.

I smiled pleasantly in response, hiding the blood soaked knife behind me.

I read it over and over again until I was 100% sure that I just been given the order to assassinate myself.

Though I knew that staying friends until our old age was a long shot, I never thought I would step over his corpse as I entered the throne room.

Had I not seen him myself, I would never have believed he was alive.

Ostensibly, I would have to burn everything, kill everyone in the office, and and move across the country in shame if she said no, but I think it was worth it to ask her out on one date.

I gripped my sword, prepared to do battle, when suddenly the ceiling exploded in a burst of glass and flames.

My stress is often caused by stupid people, the popularity of reality television, and my inability to establish a stable and long lasting relationship with another human being.

Somewhere along the road, at exactly what hour into the road trip I’m not sure, I began to realize how little I needed him in my life.

I didn’t see the attack coming, but I should have known it would come from her.

I always knew there was an advantage to keeping those pictures, and now I have complete and total control over him.

If words could hurt, the letter she left behind would have killed when I read the first sentence.

As I walked through the crowded mall, I slowly let the briefcase slip and fall out of my hands, hoping that the right person would find it where it dropped.

I walk through the burned remains of my home and, sure enough, just like he said, the box was there amongst the remains, unharmed.

I turned around slowly and saw the last person I expected to be pointing a gun at me.

After about three or four go’s at it, she gave up and went home, realizing she wasn’t destined for a life of crime.

In time, he, too, would come to hate her and loathe her very existence, but tonight she was a wondrous ball of light and happiness in a sexy, black, cocktail dress. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Before I could ask him what he was apologizing for, I simultaneously began to get dizzy and realized that my drink tasted sort of funny.

Fully expecting the fight we had the last time we saw each other to erupt again, I was totally shocked when the first thing she did was run up to me and hug me.

I stepped outside the door and was fully immersed in otherworldly sights, smells, and sounds, immediately realizing I wasn’t in Kansas anymore.

I wouldn’t normally be so shocked to see my mother calling me on my cell phone, but she has been dead for five years.

"Is that my blood?" I ask, and he looks at me. "Am I going to die?"

I took one last drag off the cigarette, then dropped it off the roof, realizing that now was as good a time as any to jump.

I was tired, had been tired for quite some time, and was going to continue to be tired until I killed that son of a bitch.

As the screams of the dying echoed down the hall, he slowly drifted off into sleep.

If you walk down the street for a couple blocks, you can almost start feeling the silence and darkness shake your bones to the core.

The trees loomed over me, the mist covered everything like darkness, and I was as vulnerable as ever.

I laughed, waved good-bye, turned, and ran right off the roof.

Arguably the best thing that happened tonight was when she flung a glass of champagne at my face, because at least she looked at me.

I would have said something different had I known it was going to be the last time I was going to see her alive.

The wind whistled through the trees, the cold cut right down to my bones, and I swear I heard a scream of terror off in the distance.

As I stood there, in my underwear, I finally got that it wasn’t “take off your clothes and come hither” look, but actually the “act normal, my parents are about to come in” panicked look.

I reached under my jacket to feel what was wet and my hand came out from under my coat covered in my own blood.

Probably not the best time, but as we were all about to die, I figured I’d confess my love to her.

She looked at me, thought for a moment, then said, “I think we should start seeing other people.”

She walked away with a smirk on her face, which grew into a full-on smile as she heard his dying screams behind her.

He had almost gotten out the door, too, but before he exited he heard someone shout his name.

He walked into the room only to find a dead body on the floor and two people sitting casually on the couch.

She took one deep breath, accepted the fact that this party was going be a total train wreck, and walked in with a smile.

I had once gotten hit by a car and was in the hospital for a week, and I imagine that was how her heart was feeling right now.

I stood there, silently in the dark, listening to my breathing, until I realized that wasn’t me I heard breathing.

I had never felt homicidal rage and heart wrenching love towards a human being at the exact same moment, all at once, but there was a first time for everything.

I don’t normally take this sort of case, but the woman sitting in front of me was so unfortunate and falling apart, I figured life owed her one.

I was blindsided, literally, by her smack in the face, but somehow I knew I deserved it.

Often times he would glance up, make sure she was still there, exhale a sigh of relief, then go back to work.

As I lay there, gasping, regrouping, all I could think was that I had rather she let me die.

Somewhere along the way trying to make a life for us, I somehow destroyed our chances of our lives being spent together.

I was impervious to harm, but her words caused me more pain than I had ever known.

It took me several tries and the help of my friend, but I finally got into the jeans and I looked amazing!

It’s amazing that when I finally got away from all human contact I realized quickly that it was, in fact, humans that were bothering me all along.

I failed to see the humor in the situation, but he continued to chuckle, covered in blood.

Of the many times I had been let down by him, this was by far the worst.

People never see this side of me, and as I cleaned up the blood, I remembered why.

I had gotten to a place where I didn’t have homicidal urges every time I saw them kiss.

I couldn’t possibly be in a worse mood, then she walked up with a scowl on her face. (hide spoiler)]
