Hi, we appreciate your patience as we work through the tremendous backlog. The website you provided directs us to the Kobo Website. Although Kobo editions are permitted on Goodreads, Kobo is not a valid source for covers and other book data.

We need a webpage showing the ISBN/ASIN and other book data to validate the info and if available we need it for the cover image. It should be non-bookseller site (Amazon & AbeBooks excepted), so from the publisher, library or another acceptable site: https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/..., if you have the book, we can use a scan/photo of your copy for the cover and the page with the publication information (you can upload a scan/photo of your own to the "more photos..." section of your profile (https://www.goodreads.com/photo/new) in the browser, not the app), then copy the link here and a librarian can add it. Make sure you state the source of the photo in the text and that your account settings are public (not private).

It is a self-published e-book so my author website (the one I linked to www.katereen.com) + the kobo site where you can buy it off of are the best sources I can provide. The acceptable sources stated that Official Author Websites were allowed so I thought this would have been sufficient.

The problem with your author site is that the ISBN isn't visible in it.
You can just state the book's ISBN and we can use it as source.

Or you can just share captures/printscreens of the Colophon/Edition page, where ISBN is visible, and from the frontcover (to be used as cover).

I've only received an EAN number which is the ISBN of Kobo is that sufficient to add on my website then?

If it is a valid ISBN (starting with 978) yes, it will be enough.
If it is the identifier you reffered in the first post, I can't help you as I'm not really sure how to proceed with that.

Thats the only identifier I got indeed.
It's their type of ISBN number and they do say Kobo editions are allowed just not that Kobo is to be used as a reference.

Well, that's kind of a deadlock, as Kobo editions are allowed in GR, but Kobo can't be used as a source.

That would be solvable as you can just add the identifier (let's not call it ISBN) to your author page.

The problem here is another.
Librarians can't add invalid ISBN (we get an error when adding the book if we use an ISBN that doesn't start with 97).

I see 2 solutions here:
- either you move this thread back to the 'Add new books' (it is in the Closed folder atm) so that another librarian that knows how to address this, may add the book.
To do this you need to be at desktop (you can't do this in the App) and click on the 'edit' link at top of this thread. Or you can just start a new thread in that section.
- or you just ask Support to add the book. Be sure to provide your author page, and that the identifier is there.

Thank you, I've added a page (edited the url in my first post too) and made sure the identifier is on there. Hopefully one of the librarians will be able to help me now.
