The Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group discussion

Hi all,

I’ve been thinking about all the cruise ship murder mysteries and of course the classic Murder on the Nile and I’m wondering if there are any notable mysteries on the high seas in an earlier period. Thinking somewhere between 1600-1800.

I’d be curious to see if there are any because of the cramped quarters eliminating a lot of secrecy.

not actually a mystery story, but more of a horror story: The Terror by Dan Simmons was set in the mid 1840s

also, for the very early 1900s this one was interesting: The After House by Mary Roberts Rinehart. It was written in 1914
