"The Four and Twenty Blackbirds" was extremely clever, the way these nursery rhyme characters came to life and became quite dark in this otherwise classic detective story.I also ready "How to Talk to Girls at Parties." It's beautifully written, and I found the two boys engaging. It got a bit far afield for me, though, and the ending left me unsatisfied. Great writing though!

I agree with Piper, this is cleverly written in fairy tale land. It kind of reminded me of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Quite enjoyable and a very quick read. Sometimes you need that. This short story was quite different from American Gods.
