I have read all of the books by the great Tamora Pierce. My mother got me into reading young, and I tended to take books from her after she was done. Of the many different authors I grew up reading, Mrs. Pierce is one who shows females in lead positions fighting to protect and serve the people of the various places she has created. Her books are not just for young adults, but also for those who are young at heart, offering something for everyone. I strongly encourage even young people to read these books; she has some for young adults and more grown-up versions

We’re back with another discussion this week.
This time, we want to shine a light on underrated female authors. These are the writers whose work has inspired you, challenged you or stayed with you long after you finish the last page, but maybe don’t get the spotlight they deserve.
Who’s your pick? Share their name, a book they’ve written and why you think more people should know about them.
At Innovation Women, our mission is to amplify the voices of women on stage and in the media. Join the discussion and help celebrate fellow female authors!
