This is where we can discuss our books to read for the Challenge in progress. Sign up to participate at the top of the Group Home page.

Our latest Poll shows a tie for two topics so we'll take them in order.
This season we're reading books about a horse or pony in competitive sport. This could be anything from eventing to barrel riding, a major race to chuck wagon racing.

The equine can be a horse, pony, mule or donkey. Fact or fiction are equally good.

Authors are welcome to name their own books if they suit the topic. Readers can also nominate a series if they all fit, but it may be that just one book of a series fits.

Have fun! For any help to sign up and shelve books, just ask, either here or privately.

Wow, competitive sport is a wide area. Let's see if anyone has a book about a sport which I have never read about!

This topic could include racing, eventing, showjumping, the draught events such as ploughing matches, log pull contests, harness team eventing. Then there are the Western sports like team roping, chuck wagon racing, barrel riding. Also, long distance riding where it is run as a sport.

Fact books could include memoirs or histories. Fiction will be fun.

For those not used to challenges, you will need to sign up to the Challenge and state how many books you want to read. You will be asked what shelf they are on. If you say horse, or challenge, shelf and you do not have a shelf by this name, Goodreads will put that shelf into your personal Bookshelf.
When you place a book on that shelf, and read it, then say you completed the read, Goodreads will mark that off as a book read for the Challenge.
Every now and then, I go through the shelf I use for this series of challenges and move the read books to other shelves.

I've read a couple of racing crime stories. There are plenty more sports, so I'm trying to vary my books.
