One thing about this series so far is the PACING. It's chef's kiss!(view spoiler)[ I really want to know how Haymitch became so cunning. The suspence is killing me.
I didn't anticipate wedding bells in Book 2 🫣
Who knew hurting Gale would've been the right catalyst for this uprising! (hide spoiler)]

I will say, this is obviously a re-read for me and you will understand more once you have read Sunrise on the reaping as is Haymitch's story and you get to see why he is the way he is, and his wit, and cunning behaviour :) Made me cry so much!

So, i havent been able to reach catching fire today, due to finishing another book which I was trying to do half day reading one and then the other... and it kinda got away from me... BUT catching fire is now priority!

Katniss & Peeta were just REchosen for the quarter quell and my jaw is still on the floor.
I knew The Capitol were going to find a way to torment her, but I thought they would get Prim or Gale in the next games, so this was interesting to say the least.
I lowkey don't think I'm gonna be able to handle the ending of this book lol, are they gonna outsmart The Capitol again??? (hide spoiler)]

Lying about Katniss's pregnancy and their marriage, is Peeta's game plan working? why did Mag commit suicide? I absolutely love Finnick but we're missing something 1000%
I'd think they're just allies but I'm still paranoid from Book 1, what would Finnick gain and how did Haymitch convince him?
I can't imagine how Gale is feeling right now!

This is crazy.
I'm so heartbroken, it should've been a happy ending since both Katniss & Peeta are alive but he was taken and District 12 is no more.
and EVERYONE knew but them??? absolutely everybody knew about the plans which would explain why Finnick & Johanna never seemed as worried or scared like Katniss, until the jabberjays for Finnick atleast.
Peeta saying There would be no life for him after Katniss 😭😭was damaginggg! It would appear Katniss is actually falling for him.
Why does she and Haymitch clash so much anyway, they basically think the same?
The news about District 13 is soooo exciting, finally the uprising is here I've been waiting for that part.

For some reason I'm not able to picture Jennifer Lawrence, I feel like Florence Pugh has the same emotional capacity as Katniss.

(view spoiler)[ Okay, so a bit behind as kids have been a nightmare last 2 days and haven't been able to get in much reading... BUT I cried! I cried when Cinna died and although I knew it was going to happen, it still hit me hard! I can only picture Jennifer Lawrence in my mind when you see it in the movie, the absolute distress... Kills me!
One theory online is: Cinna is Beete's son. He got sent to the capital when he was a baby to make sure Snow never found out about him (now you know everyone was in on getting them peeta and katniss out) and had him used against beete.

Katniss and Haymitch, honestly... one u read the mocking Jay, you need to read his story next... it explains sooo much! Although they class being they are too similar! both want the same thing, although katniss wants it to protect Prim.

Going to change the name of topic to "Hunger Games Trilogy". I need to know your thoughts on the next book :P

I haven't watched the movies yet probably after I'm done with the books, if you watched Thunderbolts or any of Florence's earlier works that's exactly how I perceived Katniss.

OHMYGOD it actually makes a lot of sense Cinna being Beete's son!!! how they're both clever with creating things😭😭that's so sadd , Beete probably found out his kid died after the everything happened since Katniss never mentioned it.

I started Mockingjay last night and couldn't stop until I finished a 100 pages lol
Honestly solid start, sad to know that she's still supposed to continue being an actress for the revolution but atleast Prim and her mom are safe. AND PEETA'S NOT DEAD.
The way Finnick is struggling breaks my heart, and finally we get some time with Gale that's not memories.
Katniss doesn't trust Alma Coin which is understandable but she seems strong for still surviving, I hope we get more of her past as well

Finicky, giving his life for Katniss was just such a killer as well, but he knew they both wouldn't make it out.

when you watch the movie, when they enter the capitol, it is all done do well!

It's so quick and shocking cause we were so sure Prim is back in 13 and safe.
The heart-wrenching thing is she died by something Gale basically created.
I actually have no idea how this book going to end, I hope Katniss gets Snow but other than that I have no idea. Is there going to be a happy ever after? If she survives this, Coin is going to kill her regardless. Is Peeta still alive? My head is swimming in questions.
If Gale is still alive, she's gonna kill him herself for what happened to Prim.
