'Slow Drag at the Port' is an annual hot rod event that is unlike any other. The featured race is actually a "coasting" competition because participants coast to the finish line and do not accelerate.

a 1:07 minute video - https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview...

I would love to see a picture of the hot rod you'll be racing :)

Duration: Sept. 1 - 30, 2025
Books must be at least 140 pages.
Audio books must be at least 3 hours long.

To participate in this drag race, you must read 1 book from the following list. Then you will need to read any 2 books of your choice to reach the 20-foot finish line.

To accelerate for 18 feet, read a book:
that was published in September
with a title that begins with a letter in SLOW DRAG
set in or about a small town
with a car on the cover
where the author uses only two names (no middle initial)
whose title is 2 words long
with a chair on the cover
set in or about Washington, USA
where a specific time is mentioned
told in the 1st person
that is part of a series with 8+ books
that you would say is a 'slow burn' book
where the MC is described as hot (could be overheated :)

You are welcome to race again by picking another book from the list and reading 2 more books to reach the finish line for the second (or even third) time.
