Why is it more daunting to share some of my original work with my mom than it is to share it with a bunch of ppl on Goodreads? Cuz I find the prospect of showing my mom something that I wrote (that wasn’t for school) absolutely terrifying. I’m thinking it’s because of the innate desire to get my parents’ approval.
And yet I must share something if only to see if it’s good enough to submit to a school in an attempt to be admitted into a school for fine arts. Yaaayy🥲
i get it rowan! i always talk to my friends abt anything before my mom(not writing necessarily) i just feel like its hard to talk to her bc she doesnt 'care' enough. or she doesnt trust me.
Yeah I know what you mean. It’s probably cause you really don’t care what we think. (Not in a mean way or anything) but we are a bunch of random strangers you will never meet. And your mom is someone you see almost every day. It obviously means more if your mom likes it than if we like it, yknow. But on the other hand it’s cool to get people who you don’t knows opinion, cause they will be completely honest with you. And as I’m reading this I sound like I’m lecturing someone, so..... sorry. Hehe. :)
