Basically, warnings about books that you think people should avoid reading or they're overhyped or a waste of time. Or all of those.

A book I think some people should avoid is Circe. I know this book is really popular on TikTok, but I feel like if you’re going to read it, do your research on it first and maybe look up content warnings/trigger warnings.

I tried reading it once and had to quit halfway. The book is incredibly gory at times and freaky (and I don’t mean as in spooky). The book was just overall messed up (I understand it’s Greek mythology and Greek mythology is weird, but I found this book was so messed up it was hard to read). I just wish I had been warned how disturbing and disgusting some of the content in the book is.

If you’re going to read this book, just be prepared to read some pretty weird/disturbing stuff lol.

oh, interesting, is it from the same author as "The Song of Achilles"? Bc "the song" was not disturbing at all (but i haven't read it to the end)

Yeah, it’s the same author. I’ve never read any of her other books. So it’s possible Circe is the only book that’s kinda hard to read. Plus, I just don’t do well with body horror, horror, or freaky things, in general, so it’s also possible that I’m just a bit more sensitive to that stuff than other people lol. But it’s definitely a strange book.
