📣 Hello Bookopoly-ers!
It’s been brought to my attention that the task under “Nobel Prize in Literature” was a little misleading, so we’re making a clarification. The task posts and sheets will be updated shortly.
Previous Task:
• Read a book that won a Nobel Prize.
Updated Task:
• Read a book set in the country of a Nobel Prize in Literature laureate.
To keep things smooth, I recommend updating your tracking spreadsheets with the full revised task set below (you can copy/paste this list):
Read a book by an author from a non-English-speaking country.
Read a book written by a Nobel Prize Winner.
Read a book that explores existential themes like identity, death, or meaning.
Read a book set in a rural or non-Western environment.
Read a book with a title containing a color or natural element (e.g., fire, blue, river).
Read a book set during a time of war or political upheaval (not necessarily WWII).
Read a book set in the country of a Nobel Prize in Literature laureate.
Read a book with a three-word title
Read a book featuring a character whose cultural or ethnic identity plays a key role in the plot.
Read a book that takes place in a single day
Read a book where language or storytelling itself is a theme.
Read a book with all the letters in "NOBEL" somewhere in the title (any order)

Dear all captains,
We are making an addition to the turn-taking thread, but Ashley will not be able to update the template until tomorrow.
Whenever you are accounting for rent received or rent paid, will you please note which team you paid/received to/from? That will help us with tracking just to be safe! Thank you all :)

Hello Teams!
It was brought to my attention that a couple of the Sheets were incorrectly calculating Salary books, so I've audited them and fixed the problem. Most were fine, but the following teams has adjustments made in their Bank Accounts:
Fantasy Foreclosers
Sci Fi Slumlords
Literary Loft Dwellers
There are no additional steps anyone needs to take, this is just notifying you of the edit!
Thank you!

🏆 OFFICIAL BOOKOPOLY BOARD MEETING & WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT 🏆
ATTENTION, LITERARY LAND BARONS, PAGE-TURNING PROPERTY MOGULS, AND INK-STAINED INVESTORS!
The final dice have been rolled. The last metaphorical rent check has been cashed (hopefully not with a bounced check from a dystopian regime). The board has been swept clear of all but the most ruthless, the most clever, the most well-read real estate tycoons!
The Bookopoly Council of Cross-Genre Commerce has convened, crunched the numbers, and is ready to reveal who has built a literary empire and who is... well, probably browsing the bargain bin for a new strategy guide.
📚 FOUNDING FACTIONS GAME RESULTS 📚
In the classic clash of original genres, the competition was fiercer than a dragon's property tax appraisal!
4th Place: Team Mystery Manor with a Net Worth of $9,594.40
The Council's Note: The clues all pointed to one conclusion: while you were busily constructing a labyrinth of red herrings in the drawing-room, you forgot to invest in the drawing-room itself. A classic case of "The Butler Did It... to the balance sheet."
3rd Place: Team Historical Holdings with a Net Worth of $19,260.80
The Council's Note: A valiant effort! You built a sturdy empire, but it seems you were slightly out of time. Perhaps next game, focus less on period-accurate plumbing and more on speculative fiction futures.
2nd Place: Team Literary Loft Dwellers with a Net Worth of $31,574.10
The Council's Note: So close! You modernists and your avant-garde investments nearly gentrified the entire board. A stunning portfolio, but in the end, you were out-maneuvered by a higher power... a futuristic one.
🥇 1st PLACE: Team Sci-Fi Slumlords with a Net Worth of $33,856.10
CONGRATULATIONS, GALACTIC OVERLORDS!
The Council's Note: You didn't just buy properties; you terraformed them. You didn't collect rent; you levied orbital docking fees. With a portfolio spanning crystal spires and neon-lit cyber-tenements, you've proven that the ultimate investment is in the final frontier. Now, please use your vast wealth responsibly... or at least get a cool robot butler.
🐉 LANDLORDS OF LORE GAME RESULTS 🐉
In the realm of fantastical holdings and gothic gutters, the battle was more twisted than a fairy-tale curse!
4th Place: Team Dystopian Developers with a Net Worth of $12,206.40
The Council's Note: A grim, grey performance. It seems your brutalist architecture and mandatory loyalty oaths didn't attract the premium tenants you hoped for. The market, alas, yearned for more... ambiance.
3rd Place: Team Romance Realtors with a Net Worth of $19,751.55
The Council's Note: You built estates of passion and sprawling country manors of yearning! Your ROI was undoubtedly heart-fluttering, but in the end, you were swept away by the competition. A sterling second-act twist, but not a HEA (Happily Ever After) in the standings.
2nd Place: Team Fantasy Foreclosers with a Net Worth of $20,336.90
The Council's Note: By hammer and spell, you forged a mighty kingdom! Your dragons hoarded gold, and your elves managed the HOA with terrifying precision. A legendary effort, but you were edged out by a darker, more... atmospheric portfolio.
🥇 1st PLACE: Team Gothic Groundskeepers with a Net Worth of $21,079.15
CONGRATULATIONS, BARONS OF THE BLEAK!
The Council's Note: You understood the assignment: crumbling ramparts are an aesthetic, and haunted moats are a desirable water feature. While others built homes, you curated moods (damp, eerie, tragically romantic). Your mastery of cobwebs, secret passages, and generational curses has paid off in cold, hard cash. The night is yours!
To our champions, the Sci-Fi Slumlords and the Gothic Groundskeepers: Wear your titles with pride! Your names shall be inscribed in the Ledger of Legendary Landlords (or possibly etched onto a haunted locket / uploaded to a holographic monument).
To all our players: You've written a glorious, chaotic, and wonderfully thematic chapter in Bookopoly history. Now, close the book on this game... and start plotting your takeover for the next one!
