Can you guys believe it's September? I sure can't! This month, the challenge is to read a mystery.

There are so many great mysteries out there. You could read a cozy mystery like Murder by Cheesecake which is a Golden Girls mystery! Or The Ex-Girlfriend Murder Club or The Ex-Girlfriend Murder Club, or even a A Most Puzzling Murder, which has been categorized as not quite cozy mystery by the blog beyondthebookends.

You could try out some historical mysteries like Etiquette for Lovers and Killers or The Stolen Queen.

You can try mysteries that lean more into thrillers, like End of Story or Assume Nothing or The Language of the Birds.

So many options. Have fun!

Linda Nielson | 280 comments At least it will be easy to find a book.

message 7: by Darin (new)

Darin | 130 comments I finished listening to "One Shot" by Lee Child - fantastic! I did start it before this challenge, so my plan is to listen to "Twilight Falls" by Juneau Black. This is book #4 in the Shady Hollow Mystery series. It's pretty cozy - all of the characters are animals, but in the preface of the book, the authors (Juneau Black is a pseudonym) say that the animals represent people, or something like that. I've enjoyed the series so far.

Em | 70 comments First book I came across available for checkout and on my TBR is Every Time I Go on Vacation Someone Dies by Catherine Mack, so that's my challenge read this month. Complete 9/22

I love it when a TBR list, challenge, and availability all come together. I hope you like it!

Carolyn | 183 comments Unless I get distracted by something else (sometimes doesn't take much) I am trying to finsh We Solve Murders by Richard Osman for this challenge. Picked up where I left off.

Linda Nielson | 280 comments I read Alpaca Lies (Bought-the-Farm Mystery #5) by Ellen Riggs . This was a very fun book in a new to me series. I will need to go back and start at the beginning. It can be read as a stand alone because I had no problem following along with what was happening. Some references were made to previous books.

On a first read through of the description, I thought the alpaca was gonna be the sleuth. lol

I will post again if this changes, but it's very likely I may not finish something for the challenge. My reading is off and I am having a hard time sticking with stuff, even stuff I do want to read.

Darin | 130 comments I know that watching something doesn’t count, but just had to mention that my wife and I, last week, watched “The Marlow Murder Club,” and really liked it. Just in case you’re looking for something “murder mystery-y” to watch.
