Anyone can nominate as many books as you'd like and look for a buddy! Any book that gets two nominations or more will have a buddy thread created for discussion during September. Please decide your start date and reading pace/reading goals in this thread. Once that has been decided, the mods will create a Buddy Read Discussion thread for that title. Reading the Buddy Read Guidelines is strongly recommended. There is no promise that you will have a buddy read for your nomination(s).

Great! Have you placed a preorder for Mate? I have not so I'm not sure when I'll get a copy but I'm assuming I'll get it by 15-16 Oct.

message 6: by Sarah-Vanessa (new)

Sarah-Vanessa | 517 comments Nope, not yet, but I will read it on my ipad anyways so I can get an ebook immediately. Meaning I will be flexible when to start. Just let me know when your copy arrived and we can start.

@Anushka @Sarah-Vanessa

We Love You, Bunny is also currently up for nomination for the October group read, so if it ends up winning the poll, the thread will be there, if not, I'll make it a buddy read with your desired schedule. The poll for the group read will be available on September 26th. :)

I'm fine with starting whenever. Mate is yet to release so I don't mind starting on the 1st Oct itself. That work for you?

@Fool-of-a-Took welcome aboard!

message 11: by Juliane (new)

Juliane | 361 comments @Anushka and Sarah-Vanessa I will also be in for Mate

@Kalyn I would like to join you for Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI - Did you have a specific time-frame and pace in mind? I can start on the 4th or any time after that during October.

I'm happy to start from the 1st, what kind of pace were you thinking? My copy has 234 pages.

@Anushka @Sarah-Vanessa @Juliane @Mate

What kind of pace were you guys thinking? I have it on pre-order and it releases on the 7th in the UK, so I'll definitely have it for the start date, so the ball lies in your court. :)

message 15: by Anushka (new)

Anushka Malik (_anushkamalik) | 506 comments @Sophie I was thinking let's do 2 chapters a day for @TheBellJar ? Page count might be different for all. My copy is 217 pages. Total 20 chapters, so we can finish in 10 days?

And let's start @Mate from 11th Oct? Just in case not everyone receives their copy on 7th?

message 16: by Juliane (new)

Juliane | 361 comments @regarding Mate Starting on the 11th sounds good to me.
The book seems to have Prologue-39 Chapters-Epilogue (according to the reading extract at my book store, no chapter length available though) and depending on edition it seems to be roughly 450 pages.

message 17: by Anushka (new)

Anushka Malik (_anushkamalik) | 506 comments Re: @Mate: Let's plan a seven day read for this?
Ali Hazelwood books are easy and quick reads generally. 6 chapters everyday should be doable for all?

message 18: by Peyton (new)

Peyton | 87 comments @Kalyn I’m down to read fifteen cents on the dollar

Oct 23-24: Act Two
Oct 25-26: Act Three
Oct 27-29: Act Four
Oct 30-31: Act Five and Epilogue

The division is unequal because some Acts/Parts are longer than others. What do you think?

Ayush (ayushraj) | 3 comments Hi guys! I am relatively new to this group and also returning from a rather long break from reading. So, I was thinking of getting back to a book that I had started reading in the past but stopped soon due to unavoidable circumstances. Book : Les Miserables, infamously called 'The Brick'.
 Les Miserables (Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition) By Hugo, Victor February, 2015 by Victor Hugo
It's a rather long book and perhaps not an easy read, often compared to War and Peace. So, I was hoping to find interested reading partners for this daunting read. Obviously it won't be completed in one month. I am thinking of reading it slowly from October to December, 2025.

I wasn't going to nominate anything this month, but of course I change my mind last minute...

Business Casual
Road Trip With a Vampire
The Glittering Edge
Love in the Time of Serial Killers
An Academy for Liars
Best Hex Ever
Cat Dragon
The Maidens
Dark Tales
The House at Watch Hill
With You Forever

I'm DEFINITELY not going to read all of these, I'm just very indecisive and need options lol

All threads for scheduled buddy reads have been made. The poll for the October group read hasn't yet finished, but it's looking like it's going to be We Love You, Bunny, if that doesn't end up being the case I'll let you guys know and you can make your desired schedule.

@Kalyn, @Juliane @Peyton, if you guys are still planning to buddy read your respective books, just drop a comment whenever and I can make a thread. :)

We Love You, Bunny didn't end up being the October group read so if you would still like to buddy read it just post your schedule and I'll create the thread :)

message 42: by Sarah-Vanessa (new)

Sarah-Vanessa | 517 comments @Sophie @Anushka I‘m still down to buddy read We Love you Bunny. I don’t have my copy yet, but I‘d be down to read around 100 pages a say for 5 days either before the 11th or after the 17th? Or would you like to read this for the readathlon? We do have the Mate buddy read then, but I could squeeze it, if we spread it over the 7 days maybe 🤔 So probably 70 pages a day then.

During the readathon would be good! 60-70 pgs a day should work for all, seeing as we all have multiple reads planned for October.
