certain nicknames bother me sm, half cover things, fake stickers on the cover, books where the actual page size is too small (like I hope this doesn't find you has that), plagiarism, when the mmc is annoying and cringy, when the only thing the main characters think about is eachothers eyes and eyes are mentioned every 2 pages

oh also when the book is stiff and hard to open, real people on covers, and when it takes 100 pages to get into the book

I hate it when the dialogue doesn’t have quotation marks around it. You’re very literary. We get it. Just use quotes.

When every woman except the FMC is evil, especially any exes. Women can be villains, just make them interesting. If they’re flat and their only characteristic is being mean, I take off a star. That’s poor writing.

When MCs in a romance spend no time together. I want to see their relationship grow! To do that, they need to be together. (On the telephone, over voice notes, on FaceTime, whatever. But they need to interact somehow.)

I think it depends, I think it can be written well if they are both ADULTS and not minor x 77 yr old man and I think if their age gap is over 15 years it starts to ick me out ☹️

Agreed- I hate realistic covers with a PASSION. As soon as I see them I don't even bother TOUCHING the book. People be like "dont judge a book by it's cover!" IM JUDGING. IM. JUDGING. THERE IS NO SAVING THAT BOOK.
