Shoshana Yarin | 29 comments My current publisher contract expires at the end of the year. I have been offered a contract with Pegasus which claims to be a hybrid company. Will I lose my reviews and is it worth the money and effort or will their marketing strategies leave me short as well. Anyone have experience with them?

Eliza Thorncroft (elizathorncroft) You shouldnt lose your reviews simply because you are not renewing a contract. Review your current contract for any clauses. Consider what a hybrid will provide you that your current publisher doesn't provide. Do you need those services? Are they competively priced?

The right Hybrid can be beneficial but at the same time, some are more costly than if you independently hired certain services. Havent dealt with Pegasus.

Have you shopped around? Queried for traditional? Considered 100% self publishing? Considered renewing?

Shoshana Yarin | 29 comments Thank you for your help. I have submitted to several traditional publishers but have not had any luck so far. I considered that the money spent on a new publisher could just go toward marketing, the problem is I am lousy at it…
