Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Hello,
I want to request Librarian status. I am an active Goodreads user and I regularly add books to my shelves, write reviews, and keep track of my reading. I am especially interested in adding and correcting information for Bangla (Bengali) literature, as I have noticed that many local books are not yet available or have incomplete details.

As a Librarian, I would like to contribute by:

Adding new editions of Bangla books with accurate details (title, author, publisher, ISBN).

Correcting and updating existing entries to ensure accuracy.

Helping the Goodreads community discover books that are not currently in the database.

Hi Goodreads Team and Librarians,

I’m Jeffrey Weinzweig (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1...), and I’ve been an active Goodreads user for a while. I really value how much accurate book data helps readers discover new favorites, and lately I’ve noticed a few duplicate editions and small errors on some of the books I follow.

I’d love to help clean those up by merging editions and keeping the details accurate for the community. I’ve read through the Librarian Manual, and I understand the responsibilities that come with the role. I’ll be careful with any edits and will ask for guidance in the group if I’m ever unsure about a change.

Authors cannot become librarians.
