From #1 New York Times bestselling author Ava Reid comes a reimagining of Lady Macbeth, Shakespeare’s most famous villainess, giving her a voice, a past, and a power that transforms the story men have written for her.
The Lady knows the stories: how her eyes induce madness in men.
The Lady knows she will be wed to the Scottish brute, who does not leave his warrior ways behind when he comes to the marriage bed.
The Lady knows his hostile, suspicious court will be a game of strategy, requiring all of her wiles and hidden witchcraft to survive.
But the Lady does not know her husband has occult secrets of his own. She does not know that prophecy girds him like armor. She does not know that her magic is greater and more dangerous, and that it will threaten the order of the world.
She does not know this yet. But she will.

Through part 1- this (view spoiler)[ is not really a retelling! I think we have lost a lot of who Lady MacBeth really is! I’m not real into this so far! Other than the three witches- really no similarity ugh (hide spoiler)]
Through part 2-why is (view spoiler)[ lady watered down? This is supposed to be a feminist retell but Lady seems weak and much less than a badass than she is originally! Not cool (hide spoiler)]
Through 3-(view spoiler)[ I think Roscille is just too young to be a true Lady Macbeth! She doesn’t have the life’s background to truly manipulate those around her. She is run by her husband rather than the other way around. She has her magical bewitching power but it doesn’t seem as powerful as she should be. And are all men just horrible creatures? (hide spoiler)]
Ok what did I just read? And I even stayed up late to finish hoping it would get better ugh but no…(view spoiler)[ so so many things I could say but that would invest even more time in this horrendously written portrayal of the one and only lady Macbeth who loves a dragon? That was just where it went off the rails and not worth my time. How and why did she do this to this already powerful villainous woman? Just awful imo (hide spoiler)]
