Hi - I have in hand a copy of 039330812X (the 1991 Norton paperback edition) with a cover that doesn't appear to be present on GR. I *think* mine is a later cover image but I'm not sure. Is there some way to tell? The copyright page says "First published as a Norton paperback 1991 by arrangement with William Collins Sons & Co, Ltd" and the edition numbering is 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0

I want to add mine, but I know the ACE creation process differs depending on whether you're adding the latest cover or an older one, and I don't want to break any rules.

I use Tin Eye to try to figure out which date covers were added. Granted, many times Tin Eye doesn't find the image, so it is not infallible. It works for popular titles. Here is the page if you want to give it a try:

Don't forget, sometimes publishers will occasionally reuse ISBNs at the same time. I guess the reasoning is they don't want to pay the extra for another ISBN.

OK, so I did a search on Tin Eye, and it found a match dated 2016, but how does that tell me whether it's newer or older than the cover on GR?

Search for the other cover. If it brings up any hits that are prior to 2016, you will know that yours is newer, and therefore should have the ISBNs.

I always have my search defaulted to show the oldest image first.

Covers can be a bit of a pain. I am doing an author who had 4!! covers in a year! He added most of them himself. I was actually e-mailing him about something just now.
