This is an excellent mystery series with a great sense of place in the fens of Eastern England. In this episode though, the main characters end up around Blackpool, which is a famous holiday area, and here the site of a potentially explosive archaeological find.

Ruth is a unique detective character, being large, middle-aged, intellectual yet loving the "dig", , and to her own surprise, a single mother. The side characters are well developed. The plots are always propulsive - who would have known that archaeology could overlap so much with crime?
