Hi! My name is Amelia.

I am looking for beta readers for my debut novel, THE BLACK BIRD’S SHADOW.

It is complete at 72,000 words. THE BLACK BIRD’S SHADOW is a dark YA mafia romance and is written in present tense with a first person POV.

Mae Carmichael takes it day by day, and sometimes job by job. After suffering a traumatic childhood stemming from sexual abuse, Mae stiffles her demons with alcohol and sex. On her way home from Damian’s, her current distraction, Mae takes a short cut instead of her usual route home and stumbles upon dangerous mafia business leaving a missing dead body behind.


Themes:
-mentally unstable FMC
-slow burn
-close proximity
-grumpy vs sunshine
