Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 4171 comments Finally starting this one today. was sitting on it in the hopes of a U word for wheel, but no such luck 😆

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 4171 comments And done!

Really enjoyed my re-read. such a lot of atmosphere in this book. And I love the way the spooky supernatural side builds up very slowly (getting the "frog in a pot of water being boiled" feeling, lol).

Got to say though. I'm very glad of my family when I read books like this one 😆

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 4171 comments One thing though... Why, for the love of all that is good in audiobooks, does the narrator do the dialogue in the prologue in a really, really dreadful Groundskeeper Willie type Scottish accent?

Particularly when the character is meant to be Welsh! 😆

You don't want a cannibal family that eats children? No Welsh pie for you, huh?

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 4171 comments My name isn't Mrs. Lovett, so I'll pass... 😆

Jenny | 2368 comments That is one musical I have never seen. And I really like Sondheim, so I don't know why I haven't.

This is starting out in an interesting way. I think. your comment about a frog in the pot is a good one.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 4171 comments Ah, it's a fun one... A friend of mine swore off barbers after watching it. He shaves himself now like the rest of the plebs.

Jenny | 2368 comments Just a theory, but if there is a chauffeur, and a porte-corchere at an impressive house, then shit is going to happen.

Jenny | 2368 comments This one was good. McCammon is amazing at building suspense and the creepy factor. I need to see what else of his I haven't read yet.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 4171 comments His Matthew Corbett series is really, really good! (ok, most of his books are really, really good, lol!)

Jenny | 2368 comments Added the first one of those to my TBR.

Judith (brownie72011) | 1055 comments I finished this one yesterday. I'm not sure I was in the right mood to read this. It was well written of course as I don't think McCammon is capable of writing a bad book, but just not my cuppa.
