Hello teams! This is a reminder that if you chose to do the bonus challenge this week, please have all 8 books posted by midnight, Pacific Time on Sunday, Jan. 11th
Welcome to the second bonus challenge of the game! This is a musicals challenge, but who does musicals as famous as Broadway? Disney of course!

This week's bonus is all about book covers! You will need 5 books to complete this bonus challenge, one for each of the following categories:
1. Castle on cover
2. Star(s) on cover
3. Crown on cover
4. Animal on cover
5. Cover is mostly blue
If your team posts one book for each of the above categories, then you will earn 30 bonus points. As a reminder, these weekly challenges are meant to be a little more difficult because you don't have very long to complete them, which is why they are completely optional. Also remember that books you use for the bonus challenge do NOT count towards a musical - your team must coordinate and plan whether to use books for the bonus or to make sure certain musicals make it to the next round.
As always, if you have questions, the Q&A is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
This bonus challenge will close at midnight, PST on Sunday, January 18th. Happy reading!

I can try for it! Not sure how much I have that fits coming this week but can make the push if we're all going for it
Jammin Jenny wrote: "I'm reading a book with a mostly blue cover on 1/16th. Is that too late?"Nope, the deadline is 1/18
I've got animal coming up and could do one more but would love if someone else could grab the last one!1. Castle on cover -
2. Star(s) on cover
3. Crown on cover - Catsalive
4. Animal on cover - Amanda
5. Cover is mostly blue -Jenny

We've got 3, 4 & 5 done, are we going to make it? I have nothing with stars or castle. I'm wondering if I should change my post to a normal task so it at least gets some points.
I'll check again in the morning. I can probably find a book for castle or stars, but a brief skim of my books doesn't show me any that I have.
Hey teams! Just a reminder that that bonus challenge AND round 1 of the musical bracket end tonight at midnight Pacific Time!
I could definitely get one of them by midnight pacific if someone else could get the other. No preference

Welcome to round two of the Musical Madness challenge! Your spreadsheets have been updated with who survived on the bracket and losing musical categories have been deleted. There were two ties in the first round, which were decided by a coin toss.
Round two will continue until Sunday, February 1st
This week's bonus challenge is all about New York City, the home of Broadway!

Because New York is one of the most diverse cities in the world, this week's challenge focuses on characters. You will need to post 5 books total and if you complete the challenge your team will earn 40 bonus points!
The categories are:
1. MC is African or of African descent
2. MC is South American or of South American descent
3. MC is Asian or of Asian descent
4. MC is European or of European descent
5. MC is Indigenous or of Indigenous descent (anywhere in the world, doesn't have to be North America)
This challenge will run until midnight Pacific Time on January 25th. Good luck teams!
I can do this one if we want to go for the bonus1. MC is African or of African descent
& possibly #5, if necessary
I can read for this one if we go for the bonus:4. MC is European or of European descent
Hip-Deep in Alligators
MC is of Irish descent, which is part of Europe
I could also take indigenous people:
The Buffalo Hunter Hunter
Looking at our bracket, some of the books that made it to the next round aren't on the round 2 drop down
Hey! It was brought to my attention in the Q&A tab that some things weren't showing up in the dropdown. It should be fixed now, but if you're still running into errors please shoot me a message!
For the BONUS so far we have:1. MC is African or of African descent - catsalive
2. MC is South American or of South American descent - Amanda
3. MC is Asian or of Asian descent - Amanda
4. MC is European or of European descent - jamminjen
5. MC is Indigenous or of Indigenous descent - jamminjen
@catsalive - can you read two books? #1 & #5?@amanda - can you read two books? #2 & @3
They are due by Jan 25th. I have one that will work for #5, but I have nothing for #2 or #3.
Which one works better for you?ETA: I should be good on #5, if you want to take #4 - we could both read for it and whomever finishes first claims it and the other one can go to the spreadsheet for musicals
ETA: I'm reading for #5 now so I'll be done with that one for sure.
