Discussing The Debate Club discussion

Discuss lgbtq "representation" in the debate club and it's agenda in all aspects of the club

I think the LGBT representation is really heavy, especially in the mods, and it ends up drowning out Christian arguments really fast

I think gay stuff is was overrepresented in the debate club and just like we're supposed to keep God out of our debates, they should keep the lgbt agenda out of theirs

Agreed. Barnette, Sage, and I think the other two are both gay. The only ones that aren't are Syd and Bibliophile

Guys, if you want to learn a little more about what Barnette and a few others in the largely liberal debate club think about lgbt, check out the status update I made. It generated a TON of comments. Don't feel like you have to go thru all of them, the main comments that actually sort of made sense were the last couple dozen.

yeah I read through this whole convo. Its seriously absurd how they can share their opinions and push their beliefs on us but when we voice our opinions everyone's against us and cussing us out

I’ve been in those debates (A LOT 😅) and those can be sooo frustrating

They just don't want to hear us because they know what we're saying is right. And that infuriates them. That's honestly what gets me through...knowing that I am 100% right in what I said.

Im currently debating abortion and its so bad. My main argument is science backs up life starts at conception so abortion is murder. Then they say 'sure its alive, but there are reasons we're killing it so its justified' and I'm like what?!

exactly. and they all just go in circles. I say life starts at conception, they say ok, I say killing a child outside the womb is wrong so killing a child inside the womb is wrong, they say but the fetus doesn't have consciousness or brain activity, and its like you just admitted life starts at conception! Who cares if the fetus has brain activity, its still a life!

No? I think your arguments are valid and I used to enjoy debating with you because I thought you were a very intelligent person. I loved your debates. The only ones I didn’t like were that you suggested women were at fault for being impregnated, THATS when I started being a bit upset with your arguments.

Ok I didn’t mean they were at fault, I meant they knew the risks so they need to take responsibility especially if they are consenting sex. Obviously just because you have sex doesn’t mean you should want to get pregnant but I don’t think that means you can kill the baby either.

Also thanks 😊 I like debating with you too, it just gets frustrating sometimes because I don’t really agree with the arguments you present but that’s just where you have to agree to disagree
