I can't be the only woman getting randome friend requests from men. I really don't want to judge all men. But every time I add a dude. 5 minutes pass and he is hitting up my DM. They are all recently widowed men. Working in the military and they have just been looking for me. Seriously!!!

I haven’t had a problem with them reaching out to me, sorry you have them do that tho! I do have them send me friend requests, I usually don’t accept them tho so I don’t have that issue, that could be why I don’t have the messaging me, since only my friends can..

That is the best thing to do is not accept male's sometimes unless you know there not like that or a mod of your group. I have to deal with different females being creeps with me so I just block and report them.

Uh, yeah sorry in my experience most men are a bit odd.

To make matters worse, the worlds kind of a weird place right now. I swear not all men are like weird. Those of us that aren't just tend to be married or happily not married.


I realize when it happens a lot it can be annoying, but i don't know try and look on the bright side? Isn't that like a compliment that they find you interesting enough to reach out to and engage you in conversation?

I am autistic so i don't really understand the whole social contract most of the time, but is it really a problem that someone is interested in talking to you?

Perhaps you could politely decline and try to reframe their actions as the compliment it's likely intended to be.

Most people enjoy receiving compliments and despite their clearly failed execution that's what most of them intended it to be. (despite their poor execution.)

Maybe that's naive, but intention does matter and i doubt that most of them wanted to make you feel uncomfortable.

I agree with you but there are a lot of men that are being really creepy and pedo in this app.

If they were just interested in being friends that would be fine. Talking about books.
But when I say that I am in a committed relationship. They don't stop.
I know that not all men are creeps lol. I suppose it could be flattering. If they were honest. But they are not

I'm sorry to hear that, I understand the world of men now is crazy. No, longer are a lot of men are tought to be gentle men. I'm one of the few that is tought and understand how you feel.

Yeah I wish that I could say they were being thoughtful and all the nice things. Maybe their intention it’s to make females uncomfortable but that’s what happens anyways. Most men, not all, really are just wanting something else. I’ve had my fair share of older men looking at me weird or messaging me weird things. And haves people tell me things

Men don’t know boundaries when it comes to women. I listen to true crime podcasts and all these cases that I hear are men abducting, raping, and killing women. Sometimes they are no such thing as good men around the world, they just do whatever they want to women and have no remorse. Ladies who are on here please be careful and don’t be alone. Bring a friend or whoever you are closest to!

Some men do as me understand boundaries, I agree you always need a friend by your side at all times because men get really creepy out there. I'm sorry for all you had to deal with this, God sees that you have stayed strong and he will bless you for this. Always stand up for one another in life.

I know that there are good men. Kind men. Understanding and good men. I would like to think I raised one. I just love books and friends. I hate that I have to decline friend requests solely based on a name or gender

I am sorry that you have had such a bad experience.

I realize it seems that way from your perspective, but only about 3% of the human population fall somewhere on the anti-social personality disorder spectrum.

I am not saying that there are not bad men out there, but the percentage of men who rape or murder people is an incredibly tiny percentage of that 3% of the population.

Most men have emotions, feelings and empathy; often times older men act oddly, but you need to realize the time they grew up in was very different than how things are today.

They often don't understand that what they are doing is inappropriate in the modern age.

I am going to assume that your in America and just have a jaded (and rightfully so) view of men.

America is the exception on how to behave poorly not the rule.

Come visit Canada or various parts of Europe and you will quickly understand very few men are how you describe.

If i or anyone else i know saw a man harassing a woman or anyone else for that matter we would confront them immediately and make it clear that said behavior is inappropriate.

There is a reason why the relationship between Canada and the USA will never be the same again.

I had someone tell me that while at a public building full of people she had an older man who needed help looking for something tell her “that if she pulled her pants down in the middle of the store, he would kiss her butt” which I think speaks for itself, that we all know this is an inappropriate statement to be said aloud to someone you don’t know. This was after he kissed her neck without any form of being told he could.

I was once at a stop light, stopped, and the old guy stared at me the entire time he was turning, instead of at the phone, with the big creepy smile on his face.

This can also attest to all the men online who go after young girls, who are under 18, which they know if wrong because they’ll say anything to make you believe that what is happening is ok, especially if you don’t know any better. Or all the men currently sitting in jail for SA weather this be to an adult, a child they kidnapped or know, or a child they lured from they home that they meet online someone saying it’s ok if they meet up and they end of raped or whatever the case may be.

Yeah especially young girls who are 18 or under would most likely to get kidnapped and raped. It’s a scary world for women. I work at a vet hospital and I was taking care of my patients and there was this creepy old shirtless man who was shadow boxing by the street and he was almost to the clinic so I had my office manager with her 2 kids with me because I couldn’t walk my patients outside to go to the bathroom. I was fearing for my safety until he was gone. That was pretty scary!

That's fucked up.

I have never seen such behavior before in my life and i am in my 30's now. Though i do live in Canada.

It's surreal to even try and imagine people behaving that way. i mean i have a lot of friends, many are men and i can't imagine them ever behaving in the way you describe.
