Ann (annrumsey) | 17015 comments My September was dominated by The Hallmarked Man, and it was an enjoyable time I was sorry to see end.

Very Good Books
The Hallmarked Man (Cormoran Strike, #8) by Galbraith, Robert - hated to have it end.

The Shattering Peace(Old Man's War, #7) by Scalzi, John a favorite series and author.

Good Books
The Deepest Cut (Monkeewrench #11) by Tracy, P.J. - love the Monkewewrench gang.

A Midwife's Tale: The Life of Martha Ballard, Based on Her Diary, 1785-1812 Ulrich, Laurel Thatcher fascinating history, a companion to the fictional version of Martha Ballard's story The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon

Spook Street (Slough House, #4) Herron, Mick - love these books, still reading behind the tv series and catching up.

At Midnight Comes the Cry(The Rev. Clare Fergusson & Russ Van Alstyne Mysteries Series, #10) by Spencer-Fleming, Julia - I jumped at the chance for this NetGalley arc.

Murder at Gulls Nest (Nora Breen Investigates, #1) Kidd, Jess

OK Books
When the Moon Hits Your Eye Scalzi, John - I guess I can't like all Scalzi books.

Eerie Basin: A Short Story by Pochoda, Ivy horror, probably very good.

Game of Nines by Patterson, James - not liking the ending sealed the low rating.

Turmeric and Turmoil: A Small Town Contemporary Cozy Mystery: by Winter, Carly - I am done with this series. subsequesnt books get lighter and lighter on plot. barely ok.

Dan in AZ | 2970 comments Haven’t read the Slough House books. Are they as good as the TV series?

Ann (annrumsey) | 17015 comments Dan: I started reading the books after watching the TV series Slow Horses and love both. I’m still a book behind so each book has to this point included enjoying how the book was presented on the screen. The characters are spot on btw.
