Would you like a wolf? If you did what would you do? Leave your comments here.

Hummmm.... I don't know. That would be a really complicated relationship. This is where the Time Traveler's Wife comes into comparison. In that book the wife was constantly worried about her husband (spoiler: he was time traveling without control and could end up anywhere at anytime). So with Sam I would always be worrying when he was a wolf... would he hurt someone, would someone hurt him? And in this particular book he actually changes to wolf forever. So that would be really tough... to know you will lost him at such an early age. But sometimes you just can't help who you love!
Here was my stick with this story, even if I could get past the whole, my man occasionaly turns into an animal thing, how oh how, do you fall in love with an animal in the first place? Grace was already in love with Sam from only knowing him in wolf form. That is the same thing as going to the zoo and falling in love with a wolf that is caged there. Who does that aside from freaky people who wind up on the news?

Although don't forget Sam turned himself into his human form to rescue Grace. Even though Grace blocked that memory out, that may be why she clung to her "crush" emotions because unconsciously she knew her wolf was human.
This is where paranormal is a bit on the freaky side though.
Yeah, I just wasn't buying that. If she couldn't remember him when he turned human until she had known human Sam for a while, the girl fell in love with a wild dog, plain and simple.
I don't know if I could fall in love with a wolf.....why would I? I would not be able to knowing that i could never hold or talk to him and not get anything back.
I think this very thing is part of the reason why I had such a hard time liking this book. People just don't fall in love with animals.

I definitely love my dogs like they're my children, but I don't feel romantically inclined towards them :) haha.

I actually didn't think she was in love with him when he was a wolf, but more that something in her subconscious knew he was actually more than just a wolf and she was intrigued by him and felt some sort of connection. But rather it was when he was human and they spent time together that she actually fell in love with him.
It does relate a little to Time Traveler's Wife. Claire met Henry when she was a small child, because he was traveling back in time, and even though she had strong feelings for him as she was older, she didn't actually fall in love with him until they two of them met (at the same age) and started dating.

I agree... I think the point of the story is that there is such thing as fate and that is why Grace knew in her heart that there was something about that wolf. It's hard to imagine loving a wolf romantically though. But I think that is necessary for the book.
I guess it is my feeling that even if a book is paranormal (my favorite genre, btw), the humans in the story need to be rooted in some degree of normalcy. Grace loving an animal in a romantic fashion isn't normal, imo.
Lia, is your profile pic the cover of kissed by an angel? I've been wanting to read that book, but I don't know of anyone who has read it...
But did she really "love" the wolf, when she didn't know it was Sam? She was physically pulled towards him, but because of his eyes--which they keep and are the only "human" part of them when they're wolves. She felt a propriatary pull towards him because she knew he was her "rescuer" and because he always hung around her backyard. Had Sam left her alone after saving her, would she have continued her fixation on him?Plus, this is where your suspension of disbelief has to kick in. It's not natural for a girl to fall in love with a wolf any more than it is natural for said wolf to turn into a teenage boy when the weather turns warm.
